Duffield knows the limitations of this story and keeps it mostly tight for the full 90 minutes. It does feel like there are multiple endings, but in the end, this a beautifully tragic story leaving it up to the audience to make of the ending what they will. I admire a director who doesn’t tell us every secret to be had. Brian Duffield is a strong visual storyteller who packs an emotional punch with No One Will Save You.

So many elements work for No One Will Save You, but the biggest thing missing is the emotional element they tried to sell. I felt very little connection to Brynn, so I checked out of the last ten-fifteen minutes of the film, where they tried to bring things full circle. No One Will Save You is a visual spectacle, but the lack of emotion causes you to feel empty when it’s over.

Grant Hermanns
Brian Duffield not only brings the same unique twist to the home invasion genre M. Night Shyamalan sought to do with Signs, but he elevates it thanks to his near-silent protagonist whose layers are nicely explored as the film progresses. There are times when the tone feels a little goofier than the rest of the proceedings, including Brynn’s fight against the monkey-like alien in her home, but the tension remains consistent and gripping throughout, thanks in large part to Dever’s powerful performance.

Absolutely rips! Gets straight to it and never lets up. Dever is fantastic as the traumatized anxiety-ridden loner being terrorized while fending off an alien invasion. Creepy effects work and sound design are extremely effective in creating immersive and tense situations throughout. And a narrative surprise packs an emotional punch. Just like PREY in 2022, Hulu has another genre hit on its hands that I wish I could’ve seen in a theater with a full audience.

Anthony Digioia
No One Will Save You can certainly be applauded for its ambition. Duffield’s direction is dialed in resulting in pure edge-of-your-seat tension with his use of angles, lighting, and shadows. Dever also carries this film with a phenomenal performance that is free of dialogue, relies completely on her expression of emotion and she knocks it out of the park. However, Duffield’s purely visual storytelling isn’t quite enough to seed the needed context to draw the full potential from this plot, or from Dever’s performance. It’s a hindrance, but not at all a deal breaker. Because in the end this film has many more positives than it has drawbacks and it’s an adequately eerie film.

A clever trip on the alien invasion story, No One Will Save You harnesses writer/director Brian Duffield’s fun script and the sheer emotive power of Kaitlyn Dever to feel fresh. It also has one hell of an ending.

No One Will Save You is ninety minutes of pure creative, suspenseful, and creepy fun. Duffield keeps audiences on their toes and at the edge of their seats as he pivots around expectations and delivers something terrifyingly original. The visuals, score, and sound design work together in a masterful way to keep the momentum and the intensity high. Dever’s performance outshines everything and deserves to be rewarded in every way possible. In a world of films with bloated runtimes and dialogue to match, Duffield does the exact opposite and it has paid off. I only wish I could have seen this one in theaters.

I genuinely had an amazing time watching this movie. It’s a captivating 90-minute original horror film with minimal dialogue, and Kaitlyn Dever’s performance is truly exceptional as she carries the entire movie. I wish I could have experienced this on the big screen. More original horror FOR THE WIN!

Although the film shines brightest in its early moments, skillfully preserving an air of mystery, it manages to maintain its grip on the audience’s attention even as it flirts with moments of ambiguity and confusion. One thing remains indisputable: Kaitlyn Dever shines as a star, effortlessly shouldering the weight of the movie with her remarkable talent. Come for the throwback aliens, stay for the riveting performance.

You never know which direction No One Will Save You will go in, which makes it so fun. Not to mention, there’s barely any dialogue, and it still manages to keep you invested in this wild journey. If aliens ever invade Earth, I want to be on Kaitlyn Dever’s team! She leads this film strongly — again, without uttering a word — and keeps the energy going from start to finish.

Kaitlyn Dever holds you in her grip in Brian Duffield’s No One Will Save You. The film is exciting as it mixes sci-fi and home invasion tropes together. The CGI looks clean for the aliens as well. Not all of Duffield’s risks work here, though, and some of the story beats feel very familiar. The ending will also be divisive.

Debuting on Hulu in the States, No One Will Save You will bring back nostalgic feelings of growing up afraid of an alien invasion after watching a film like Signs (a nod to that included within) or even Mars Attacks!. A terrific piece of sci-fi filmmaking allowing for the horror to flow through ours (the viewer) and the character’s veins, as the pressure to survive becomes exponentially more dire. While not breaking new ground, this film easily recaptures the hysteria brought surrounding tales and myths of aliens living amongst us.”

No One Will Save You continues to showcase why Kaitlyn Dever is one of the best actresses of this generation. The film rests solely on her shoulder as she delivers a riveting performance, one with nearly no dialogue. Brian Duffield continues to impress as a filmmaker, and I wish this alien invasion flick got a limited theatrical run because it would have been a lot of fun to watch with an audience. Definitely check it out on Hulu.
