
Hollywood Creative Alliance Announces Winners of the 2026 Astra Midseason Movie Awards

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – LOS ANGELES – The Hollywood Creative Alliance today announced that Emmy-nominated actress, comedian, producer and writer Lisa Ann Walter will host the 2026 Astra TV Awards, taking place on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at InterContinental in Los Angeles.
Celebrating excellence across television and the creative arts, this year’s ceremony will recognize some of the industry’s most accomplished performers with honorary awards, including William H. Macy (Timeless Award), Cedric the Entertainer (Actor Spotlight Award), Jason Ritter (Generations Award), Natalie Alyn Lind (TV Breakout Star Award), Shawn Hatosy (Virtuoso Award), and Troy Kotsur (Impact Award). Additional honorees, presenters, and special guests will be announced later this week.
“Lisa Ann Walter has built an extraordinary career by bringing humor, authenticity and heart to every role she takes on, making her the perfect host for this year’s celebration,” said Matt Weiss, EVP of the Astra Awards. “We’re equally thrilled to honor all these remarkable artists, William H. Fresh off another celebrated season of ABC’s Emmy-winning comedy Abbott Elementary, Walter has become one of television’s most beloved comedic performers. Beyond her fan-favorite role as Melissa Schemmenti, her career spans stand-up comedy, film, television, writing and producing, with memorable performances in The Parent Trap, Bruce Almighty, Shall We Dance, and War of the Worlds. Earlier this year, she released her first stand-up special, Lisa Ann Walter: It Was An Accident, on Hulu.
William H. Macy will receive the Timeless Award in recognition of his remarkable career across theater, film, and television. An Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee, Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Award-winning actor, writer, and director, Macy is best known for his acclaimed portrayal of Frank Gallagher in Shameless, earning two Emmy nominations and two SAG Awards. His celebrated body of work includes Fargo, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Seabiscuit, Pleasantville, Jurassic Park III, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and Train Dreams. He is also a founding member of the Atlantic Theater Company and can next be seen in Dan Fogelman’s upcoming Hulu series The Land.
Cedric the Entertainer will receive the Actor Spotlight Award in recognition of his remarkable three-decade career spanning stand-up comedy, television, film and Broadway. A multi-hyphenate entertainer, producer and author, Cedric most recently concluded an acclaimed eight-season run as the star and executive producer of CBS’ The Neighborhood, earning another NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series. His legendary body of work, from The Original Kings of Comedy and the Barbershop franchise to The Steve Harvey Show, The Proud Family, and countless iconic performances, has established him as one of the most influential comedians and entertainers of his generation.
Jason Ritter will receive the Generations Award in recognition of his vast career in television and the generational acting legacy he carries on after his father John Ritter and grandfather Tex Ritter. Jason currently stars on CBS’s hit show Matlock and will soon be seen in HBO’s Lanterns. His television work includes starring roles on shows including Gravity Falls, Parenthood, and Kevin (Probably) Saves The World as well as guest appearances recently on Gen V, Poker Face, and The Last of Us. Also a force in the film industry, Jason is one of the most gifted performers on television today.
Shawn Hatosy will receive the Virtuoso Award honoring his acclaimed work as an actor and director across film and television. An Emmy Award-winning actor, Hatosy recently earned Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in HBO’s The Pitt and is currently nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor for the series’ second season. Best known for his standout roles in Animal Kingdom, Southland, Bosch, and Dexter, Hatosy has also built an acclaimed film career with performances in Public Enemies, The Alpha Dog, The Faculty, John Q, and more. He will next star in FX’s Cry Wolf opposite Olivia Colman and Brie Larson.
Natalie Alyn Lind will receive the TV Breakout Star Award celebrating her rising career as one of television’s most exciting young talents. She currently stars as Oreana Jackson in Taylor Sheridan’s Dutton Ranch, the latest installment in the Yellowstone universe, and will next star in and executive produce the upcoming horror film Halloween Store. Known for standout performances in Big Sky, The Gifted, Tell Me A Story, The Goldbergs, Sugar, and Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, Lind continues to establish herself as a versatile force across television and film.
Troy Kotsur will receive the Impact Award for breaking barriers across film and television. An Academy Award-winning actor, Kotsur made history as the first Deaf male performer to win the Oscar for his acclaimed performance in CODA, a role that also earned him BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild, Critics Choice, Independent Spirit, and Gotham awards. A celebrated stage and screen actor, his career spans Broadway, film, and television, including The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian, where he also created the Tusken sign language. In 2023, he was appointed by President Joe Biden to the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.
The Hollywood Creative Alliance is also proud to partner with Brandywine Valley SPCA as the official charitable partner of the 2026 Astra TV Awards.

The 2026 Astra TV Awards will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at InterContinental in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be livestreamed on The Astra Awards YouTube channel (@TheAstraAwards) beginning at 7pm PT.
